Blender samples plate cup and donut4/15/2024 ![]() I followed all steps including adding loop cuts and pressing I to do the thing which he showed. I’ve looked at tutorials and cannot find definitive answers that help me resolve my approach to making a paper plate. I was watching Blender Guru's tutorial for making donut and coffee with plate, but when it comes to curving the coffee plate, I grab part of it (with Proportional Editing switched to sphere) the whole plate comes along and nothing curves. How would I ensure the edges of the “pie slice” plate but up against each other using the array modifier tool? how do I create new edges and vertices at an angle to align to the center? When erasing and adding faces, vertexes, edges, etc. ![]() After that’s completed, I’d use the array modifier to duplicate the plate’s slice along a circular path while ensuring “merge” is enabled and while ensuring the faces don’t overlap. Then I create the concave vertical slits along the top rim using the sculpting window. A topologist is a person who cannot tell the difference between a coffee mug and a donutso goes a joke about a little-known scientific field crowned Tuesday with a Nobel Physics Prize. I’d first need to take my current plate and make a segment of it a “pie slice” evenly by creating two edges to somehow align into the center axis. Here’s how I figure the best approach would be: ![]() Blender Guru did the exact same thing but his objects ended up still being completely round. Now I’m trying to get a little bold for my scene and create a paper plate. Been doing this Blender Guru donut tutorial and the cylinder for the cup and circle for the plate ended up turning into ovals after reshaping them. Beginner with Blender, but I’ve successfully made a donut and coffee cup via Blender Guru.
